In 2004, India’s ruling BJP party called early elections with the campaign slogan, “India Shining.”   It was meant to assure them of a victory over the rival, Congress Party, dominated by the Gandhi family. 

The analysts I listened to for this story were clearly wrong. The Congress Party won.
